They needed a unified Enterprise Data Platform which integrated data from multiple transactional data sources, and sophisticated corporate reporting for their business users, especially those in the Finance and FP&A (Financial planning and analysis) functions.
Our team of experts advised the client on the overall strategy for their Enterprise Data Platform and implemented the solution, converting a shared repository of ingested data sources into a proper 3-layer Data Platform.
The common Data Platform (Snowflake on Azure) ingests all the client’s transactional data sources (SAP, Custom Billing, HR and internal systems into a Raw Data layer, and the information is then modelled into several data marts.
The ELT/ETL pipelines are implemented in Matillion, which pushes execution down to the Snowflake engine.
Finally, we built a corporate reporting layer on top of the Data Platform with Power BI, empowering business users with real data self-service capabilities.
We empowered the client’s team with new technologies as well as our proprietary Project Methodology and improved processes, to establish a well-governed project portfolio.
They have now moved from a shared repository of ingested sources into a proper 3-layer Enterprise Data Platform.
Our team also leveraged our existing functional expertise in GL, AP, AR, and core financial ERP models to build the most relevant Analytical data models for the client’s needs.
The resulting sophisticated corporate reporting layer empowers business users to create their own reports, and supports the client’s digital transformation process as a change-agent to replace existing manual processes.
