Our customer, a major Oil & Gas group of companies in the Middle East, needed a unified analytics tool to track, monitor, and report the status of all their projects. They previously used ServiceNow to manage project data, replacing Excel files for better data centralisation.

 

They now required a unified solution for tracking and monitoring project management data, with automated updates across the platform and security features based on employees’ role in the company.

Our Approach

Our team developed a Power BI solution to visualise all project-related data, ensuring seamless tracking of the customer’s projects. This solution includes unified project portfolio analytics across the group companies. Project data is automatically integrated and consolidated from ServiceNow using an API. Row-level Security (RLS) controls are applied based on employee roles. The implementation features:

A holistic view of project KPIs, statuses, task calendars, and progress, all presented through easy-to-navigate dashboards.

 

Role-Based Security

We implemented row-level security to ensure users can access only the data they need, maintaining confidentiality across departments and teams.

 

Data Consistency & Sharing

Automated data sourcing from ServiceNow via API ensures that all reports are accurate and up-to-date – without any manual intervention. We also implemented an export functionality, which allows reports to be exported to PDF and Excel. Additionally, reports can be easily shared via browser links and/or screenshots for easy collaboration.
